The standard non Pro V6 is now at a very accessible 50Euro and is very tempting if you are ok with the more limited features. The v7 has just been released adding some nice features and enhancing the Hi/Sh tools - they are now almost as good as LR.

But they get the job done for "normal" pictures where you just want to pull a bit more dynamic range from the file. The interface is a bit clunky and the Highlight/Shadow recovery capabilities are below the industry standard LR.

It seems to take everything that's great about the Oly rendering and enhance it with some superb and detailed color.

I've never seen such glowing and refined skin tones. The out of the box look and the various color presets are stunning. But the geek in me couldn't resist and gave it a try. I never payed much attention to Silkypix, somehow feeling that it's just a limited "bundled" grade software, similar to OV3 or Capture-NX for Nikon. I still find it extremely good and extremely competent, its advantages being much much more than being free. I since dialed some very good presets and established a very convenient workflow with it.
